Milestones...

NO TRAINING WHEELS! Yippee!
Cole started riding his bike this week without the training wheels. I was surprised by how quickly he caught on. It actually only took a couple of times with me running beside him. And next thing I knew he was off riding down sidewalk to the end of the block all by himself. We're still working on taking off without help but he's learning how to use the brakes to slow himself down. This is great! Now when I go running he can ride his bike and I can push Landry in the jogger. That makes the jogger 45 lbs. lighter....!! Thank You!!!

Preschool is now over. The end of the year picnic went well - it was beautiful weather. Here are a few pictures of Cole with his teachers and his "buddies" - I call them "the gang". Or I should say TROUBLE!

CALEB - COLE - LUKE - DREW

Although Preschool is over we still have to get up and get going in the morning. And needless to say Cole is not a morning person... Last week as I was coaxing him out of bed I said "You have to be the pokiest kid in the world!" He responded - "No, my Grandma Sue is the pokiest kid in the world". Boy - does he know his Grandma! I said "well, she's not a kid but she's definitely pokey..." Now I know where he gets it! That same night he asked if he could "have some extra sleep time in the morning". Oh no, not already I thought to myself - he's only 4!

Landry was home sick a few days this week. 1/2 day on Wednesday and all day on Thursday. I finally broke down and took her into the walk-in clinic on Saturday. We got a Rx - so hopefully she'll be back to busy self soon. She's become quite the momma's girl this past week with this sickness. But she's working through it.

As far as her milestone this week... she learned how to go down the stairs all by herself. She slides down on her belly. This is a huge relief to me! As when she was just 5 months old she crawled over to the steps unbenoticed to me and fell down them. So the stairs have been a fear of mine ever since.

Pre-school Days Ending!

This is Cole last week of pre-school! This coming Wednesday we have an "end of the year picnic" at the park. This will be the end of Cole's pre-school days... But on that note - he's not starting official kindergarten this next fall. Cole's birthday falls right on the cut-off for kindergarten. Lucky for us, our school system has a "optional K" program especailly for those kids with late summer birthdays. I've heard wonderful things about this program so we are very excited. It is everyday, 1/2 days at the elementary. So he will go to his current daycare in the a.m. and to the elementary school in the afternoons. He is extra excited about getting to ride the school bus back to daycare after school!

CONQUERING THE MONKEY BARS! Cole has conquered the monkey bars on our playset at home. I thought for sure we were going to be making an emergency room visit after all the tempts! I'll knock on wood right now...!!!

Cole is still fighting some serious allergies. He had a long night last night. His eyes have been so swollen the past few days that this morning when he woke up they were just slits. He could hardly open them. His Dr. put him on Singular - but it's not working on all his symptoms. Poor guy - I feel so sorry for him. He just got up from a 3 1/2 hour nap... he never naps on weekends!

Landry is battling a runny nose and little congestion too. But it still hasn't stopped her from being her busy little self. Believe it or not - she actually sat long enough for me to paint her toes yesterday.

We've been working really hard with her on learning all the body parts. She's catching on pretty quickly.

Here are a few pics from the week. Cole and Landry both recovering from the weekend. We had a "break in the patio" impromtu party last night. I should say - phase 1 of the patio. We still have a long way to go!

Happy Mother's Day To All!

Boy these weeks just fly by! It was a busy weekend. We had our patio extended, it's now triple the size it used to be. So now the real work begins! My dad is now going to stencil the top to look like flagstone. Then Tyler will need to landscape all the way around it. So we have been pondering all weekend on what to do! And the weather did not help, it wasn't exactly the best weather. Some rain yesterday and LOTS of WIND today. It will definitely be a work in progress...

Cole went to another birthday party. This time it was a swimming party at the Y. Everytime he goes to another party he says... I want my birthday at... "wherever the party was." So far it's been Pump It Up, Chuck E Cheese, and now at the YMCA. So we'll see come August. I told him he has some time to figure it out.

So far as I've typed, Landry has dumped a full loaf of bread on the floor, fished a bag of old chips out of the trash, and broke the child-proof lock off the cabinet... This is just the tip of the iceberg! She is a DESTROYER! Sweet but not so innocent. Oh and this week she discovered how to climb up on the couches herself. So I'm sure we'll have plenty of bumps and bruises in the next few weeks. Stay tuned... Landry's daycare provider (Jamie) is convinced she's going to be calling me with an accident report anyday now.

I will post a few photos a different day. Our other computer (the one with the camera program) has a virus so I'll need to wait till I fix it! AHHHHHH! So frustrating!

Happy Birthday... to me!

Today - May 4th, we celebrate another year gone by... I had a great weekend birthday celebration. My parents came up for the weekend. We did some shopping, eating, and a little drinking. Tyler and I went out with a big group on Saturday night. Michelle Dirks and I celebrated our birthdays together since they are so close. We went to a great Mexician resturant downtown (Dos Rios) and ate - ate - ate and drank a lot of maragaritas! YUMMY! Then walked down to "People's" where "piano palooza" was happening. Those guys are SO good - we had a blast singing and dancing! I can't wait to do it again.

Cole is fighting some allergies and sinus discomfort. This happens every year to both he and I. Everyone starts cutting grass and the sneezing, stuffy/running noses start. Our sinuses fill up and we're miserable. It is particularly hitting Cole hard right now. In fact he laid on the couch all morning today until it was time to go to a birthday party. - Which is not like him at all!

Landry is good - as busy as ever and into everything. She doing very well at listening and understanding what we are telling her. We're starting to hear new words more often some new words are - dog, night, - and of course her favorite - HUSH!

Here are some great photos from the weekend!
