Birthday Celebrations

This weekend we traveled to Cedar Falls to see Tyler's dad and to celebrate our niece & nephews birthday. Presley turned 3, and Booker turned 1 - so we celebrated together at a hotel with LOTS of swimming, pizza, cake (a lot of cake!), and drinks. The kids had so much fun swimming, it's been a while since they have been swimming and they truly enjoyed it. After 5 hours of swimming they were wiped out! Cole really gets a kick out of staying in hotels so it was a special treat for him. He was crashed on the couch Sunday night by 6:00.
I took over 100 pictures so I had to narrow it down for the Smilebox!

Landry & her cookies...
Landry likes cookies but when I bought M&M cookies she decided on a different approach to eating them. She picks out all the M&M's first and then leaves the cookie... Humm? Defeats the purpose of a M&M COOKIE! Oh well..!

A Day of FUN!

After almost a week of being stuck indoors, we finally got to go outside again to enjoy the snow. This time we decided to go sledding - on a "real" sledding hill! We got a bunch of neighbors together and went to Clive. The kids had so much fun, I cannot remember the last time they had that much fun. Everytime they went down the hill it was like Christmas morning over and over again. Their smiles were endless. Landry (the fearles one!) even braved the big hill many times. We can't wait to go again.

Saturday night we met some neighbors at the DCG basketball game. Landry & Sayler colored during most of the game. I was happy that it kept Landry occupied.

Snow Days & Blizzards!

We are getting hammered with snow - which the kids LOVE. But a blizzard is on the way this afternoon. Yippee.... So before that arrives we went out to enjoy the snow. We have no hills in our neighborhood, so we have to improvise and make our own.

The kids went to a "triple" birthday party last weekend. I attached the montage below. Landry was a little monkey. She was definitely keeping up with all the other big kids. She was amazing climbing the walls with no problem and going down the huge slide with NO FEAR! She scares me... she has no fear at all.

Goodbye 2008... Hello 2009!

It seems as though everyone I know was ready to give 2008 a kick in the butt! When I was putting together the montage I always think pretty hard about the song that I put to it. I could not get the word "believe" out of my head. So when I typed it into my song search I came up with the song "I Believe". It's about believing in the impossible, overcoming obstacles, dreaming, and striving for the best. Hopefully everyone will have the attitude in 2009 to do these things.

A few days before Christmas I went to Cole's holiday party at school. Where they had treats, sang songs, played a game, and had a book exchange.

Our Christmas was great! The kids really got into this year. Landry could have gotten 1 baby and been totally happy with just that! Instead she got 7 new babies, and loved toting them around with her everywhere. Along with her kitchen, shopping cart, and dishes! Cole was keeping close track of gift count this year. It wasn't about the gift - it was about the # of gifts... So I really had to make sure it was even. He got a lot of new Wii games, Bakugan stuff, and Pokeman. I made my first Prime Rib dinner and it was a success. It's going to be our new tradition on Christmas night.

The weather has kept us home bound during the holiday break. We've had ice and snow galore. With a couple of really warm days in between which caused flooding and other issues. What weird weather!

New Years Eve. we went to some friends house and rang in the new year with all the kiddos. All of the kids stayed up past midnight. I was hoping Landry would crash early, but there was no chance that was happening with all the excitement.

Here's to a NEW YEAR! May 2009 bring you love, laughter, and happiness!
